Hizmetlerin gerektirdi\u011fi g\u00fcven ve sorumluluk konumu nedeniyle, genellikle \u00f6zel mesleki ve insani niteliklere de ihtiya\u00e7 duyarlar; bu da ancak \u00f6zel e\u011fitimle edinilebilir. Ya\u015fl\u0131lara y\u00f6nelik sosyal hizmetler alan\u0131nda, hen\u00fcz bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma alan\u0131na y\u00f6nelik \u00f6zel bir temel e\u011fitim bulunmamaktad\u0131r ve \u00e7e\u015fitli nedenlerle, bu alana dayal\u0131 daha sonraki gerontolojik ileri e\u011fitim ve \u00f6\u011fretime ihtiya\u00e7 duyulmamaktad\u0131r. \u00d6zellikle demografik geli\u015fmeler \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, sosyal hizmetlerin gelece\u011fine ili\u015fkin tart\u0131\u015fman\u0131n ofansif ve yenilik\u00e7i bir bi\u00e7imde s\u00fcrd\u00fcr\u00fclmesi gerekiyor.
